My Two Cents on Happiness

Back when were children, happiness seemed so ordinary and easy for us to seize. A bar of chocolate, an ice cream can make us happy for a long time. A little greeting, warm hug, or a smiling face can make our day. However, as time passes by, happiness became profound. Neither chocolate nor ice cream can satisfy our desire. We have no time to enjoy the beauty of life for we are always in a hurry.
We are hurry to get on a bus - we are in a hurry to meet the deadline - we are in a hurry to fall in love with somebody. We have no time to even greet our parents, appreciate those who has always been there for us. We spend lots of time in things that are of less importance. For some, it's easy to find their way out of a commitment. All these happen around us. The "fast food lifestyle" makes us abandon the promises that we have sworn, the unreachable dream changes us into the slaves of dreams. We find no joy in every scenery that passes in our life. Passion is nowhere in the things we do. At the end of the day, depression hits us and makes us forget the concept of happiness.

Happiness is everywhere no matter how fast time flies. It is pressure and living in a fast-paced society that we pay no attention anymore to those little acts of happiness that occurs everyday. That’s the main reason why happiness become less and less in our thought. So when you feel in a hurry, just slow down. Take one step at a time. Use your heart to listen to that small voice that says, "Look around. Don't miss to see the many beautiful things around you."
